2015 Ebook Documentation
We are pleased to announce the release of MINI/Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38 – 2015. Looking back on the activities at Ludlow 38 during this past year, the free publication features texts and photographs documenting its exhibition program, which included solo exhibitions by Anna-Sophie Berger, Zuzanna Czebatul, and Mario Pfeifer; a public installation by Kay Rosen; a festival organized by Keren Cytter; as well as the group exhibitions The problem today is not the other but the self and Natural Flavor.
The book also comprises a series of conversations with curators and artists, including Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Doug Ashford, Adela Demetja, Dexter Sinister, Anca Munteanu Rimnic, Nicolaus Schafhausen, and Tobias Zielony, in which the importance of cultural activities in urban and rural areas is compared and discussed. Edited by Vivien Trommer, curatorial resident in 2015, this publication reflects on the significance of Ludlow 38 as a non-profit art space vis-à-vis its location on New York’s Lower East Side.
